I don't know for sure, there may be some unknown guys out there that can pull off things that most would find impossible.

Not necessarily my favorite, as that guy would not be the best player, but my favorite all around (songwriting, technical savy, and feel).

But the guy that seems to be able to pull off things no other would even attempt is Steve Vai

The greatest guitarist of all time is whoever invented the guitar in the first place, because without them doing that way back when, there would be no guitarists at any time to try and have this futile discussion on who the greatest of all time is....
