my friend is always telling me about rockband the game. i always tell him that someone who actually can play a guitar would most likely think its stupid, including ME! so he sent me this link:

http://www.gadgettastic.com/2008/03/17/ ... tring-mod/

i just cant get over this rockband thing. and that people are actually so into this, that they would do this to a poor strat. probably a STARcaster from best buy or something similar, but the fact remains...

anyone else think this is dumb? just me?

hmm maybe I read it wrong, but it seemed like a mod for the toy guitars that come with the game, not for a real guitar.

That one may be a toy--but I have seen, in person, actual guitars done up as rockband/guitar hero controllers. Which baffles me why someone would spend that much on a game controller.

I can believe anything! I said a while back, don't be surprised if a band comes along with a cd of songs played with Rock Band or Guitar Hero!

I used to hate Rock Band and Guitar Hero because I thought playing a fake guitar was pitiful. Then I played it and realized that it was fun in a video game way. Look at it for what it is, a video game, not a guitar simulator.

They modded the controller, not an actual guitar.

If you look closely you can tell. Now, if I hadn't been playing Rockband so much lately, I probably wouldn't know... I don't have it, just the place I go everyday after school does, so...

I enjoy playing real football, but I also like to play Madden with my buds, and some beers. Sorta the same deal i guess.

Never played G-hero or Rock band though. What seems different to me is I like madden, for when i am lazy and or drinking a few. but to me standing around pretending to jam or play along is time I would rather spend actually jamming or playing along to records.

Hey Fenderheads-

I agree with Texasguitarslinger- It's a video game and it is really pretty fun. I have Guitar Hero and I have a great time with it.

Try it out sometime-

The Freeze

Yes, in fact, Peavey manufactures game controllers made of real guitars. I do believe they run for...$300? $400?

http://www.peavey.com/products/controller/

It's kind of sad to see, imo... :?

Speaking of Guitar Hero, this is my favorite cartoon about it:

Exactly--hey I know it's a video game--and if you enjoy it--fine. Play it.
But I don't get how much people spend on what is a game controller.
$300-$400? That's crazy for a game controller--even if you have more money than brains.

AS long as it's not my money.
