Duck Dunn is one of my favorites. Besides being a world class bassist, he just looks cool while he's playing. One of the groups I've played with used to do "Green Onions" and "Time Is Tight". I love that stuff.

I'm definitely a fan. Cropper, Dunn, Booker, doesn't get much better.

Try to talk him into coming on the forum and talking to us. The guys in the bass forum would love to ask him questions. Great connection for you! 8)

I'm a huge Stax/Volt fan and have met your great uncle and the colonel. I love a lot of that greasy, funky, soul cookin' from Rufus and Carla to Otis Redding.

I'll bet he has told you a lot of the stories from the "old" days, eh?

Hey Dunn

I'm a big Stax fan. Cropper, Dunn, and Booker T (and Jackson on Drums) They are my hero's- Their talent...Their music- I cant say enough - They are legendary. Say hello to your uncle and tell him thanks for the music-

I dig 'em! I've done my own arrangement of "Green Onions" as a guitar instrumental, and am also working on similarly arranging "Time Is Tight." The later one is tending to resist "being beaten" into a guitar instrumental, however, and mostly because of how long Booker played some of them chords on the Hammond.
