I have check for myself the soundfile here from the Super Champ Amp.
Really nice and usefull for home and small gigs.
Let's see when the GAS will come up in me....
A MIM Strat is good solution, good value for money.

Cheers :D

This is my first post here, and I also am looking for suggestions on a new amp. I play a '77 strat, so I want to find an amp that is portable and also powerful enough for live gigs to compliment my guitar. Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Always a difficult decision... but I would upgrade you guitar first, then your amp.

Consider buying a "quality" used guitar rather than a "budget" brand new one. ;)

well u should try to get a mim because the squiers aren't as good. if u like ur squier u should keep it and take it to a local music and try it out with some amps.

We need to know more info to help you ... like what type of music do you play? What is your budget? Do you have pedals, like built-in effects, or only play clean?

My opinion is get the amp first. The GDEC is an alright little amp, but for true tone, a blues Jr maybe the best option. To me, you can make a cheap guitar sound good through a good amp, but you cannot make a great guitar sound good through a bad amp.

The only exception to this rule would be if your guitar just can't be setup to play well. It's important that your guitar has decent action, which can be set up on most cheaper guitars. If you can't play it, then your tone is useless.

The biggest improvement for me in tone, was getting a good amp. When I upgraded my guitar, the $1,500 ESP was only a slight improvement in tone over my modded $160 guitar with $200 pickups, and that part is subjective even. As long as your guitar plays decently, upgrade the amp for the biggest tone improvement.

'Doesn't matter. You'll want and add the other soon, anyway.

Start smoking cigarettes right now and give up ten seconds from now. But daily, put away the cost of a pack a day in a Gear-only fund.

And surprisingly soon, you can have it all, AND clean lungs. Have fun!

Same problem here. I need both soo badly

An acoustic to take anywhere and paint musical soul wherever I want, however I want, learn new things on... or an amp to listen to the glistening ear candy of my telecaster without having to get annoyed by my current bedroom amp's wannabe tones and versitility (or lack thereof).
