I wonder how much work is done by hand on the Gibsons that mere mortals can afford. When I look at my LP Vintage Mahogany Studio, it's obvious that the price was as low as it was because many of those steps in the video didn't need to be done, i.e. binding, lacquer coats, buffing(?).

Very Cool indeed. The condition of that guitar is amazing concidering its age and that it is a well traveled and giged guitar. Sure no Road Worn looking more Road Quality care and built.

Very true! Not a lot of road wear/play wear for a 40 year-old "go to" guitar.

I went with the Epiphone Dot with the flamed maple "Deluxe" sunburst finish. The pups can be a bit muddy, but it's still a great value. I saved myself $2,000+. You can swap the pups for a pair of PAF's if you don't like the '57 Classics. I don't think they offer the Deluxe anymore, but they're still just $399.

Someday, I'd like to get a Sheraton like John Lee Hooker's.

I'm wrong! MF offers the Deluxe flametop for just 99 cents more!!
