We had a '71 when I was growing up. Loved it, though once speed limits increased to 65 it had trouble keeping up on freeways.

I'm a Volkswagen fan myself. If I had my pick I would choose the panel van, but all the vans are cool, as long as their pre-1970.

I'm pretty fond of the Karmann Ghia myself.

For anybody that doesn't know about it, this is probably the best Volkswagen site ever.

Here's the link:

If you find a pre-68 VW Bus (I believe 68 was the year they switched to the bay windshield) you'll have to either; pay a few thousand or get a really beat up one and fix it up yourself. Don't be so quick to dismiss the later models, but I wouldn't ever want to be seen in any of those 80's type buses.

I'd love to have an old VW MicroBus!! I have a lot of fond memories of those things. Unfortunately, those stories can't be told in a nice forum like this.
