I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to get an Ivoroid pickguard from Fender like the one on the 40th Anniversary Tele (and the same material as the one used on the Merle Haggard Tele)? If not, does anyone know of an aftermarket pickguard maker or a supplier of ivoroid sheet material suitable for making them? I've done an extensive search and come up completely empty. I may try emailing Fender and seeing if I can get the name of their supplier. It's a longshot but worth a try. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.

You can go here http://www.stewmac.com/
They have perloid pickguards and perloid material if you want to make your own. :)

Thanks for the reply but IVOROID and pearloid are two COMPLETELY different things. Ivoroid is a synthetic ivory, most often used for bindings but the 40th anniversary tele (1989) used the material for its pickguard and the Merle Haggard Tele also has an ivoroid pickguard. Not sure of any others...

Ivoroid is sort of an off white material with little "lines" through it, I guess to make it look somewhat natural. Apparently, it's pretty hard to come by in larger pieces. Binding material is available in places though. Thanks again for the reply.

Sorry, I dont have a way to post pics but if you google "40th anniversary Telecaster" or "Keith Urban Telecaster" you'll see what I mean. The Merle Haggard Tele also has an ivoroid PG. It just looks off-white until you get right up on it and then it has little lines in it, making it look more like natural ivory. The binding on these two guitars is also ivoroid. Im not sure if Fender has used the material on any others.
