Is that wilko johnson on that track? A very unusual guitarist if ever there was one.

To the best of my knowledge, Phil Manzanera is on guitar

Always enjoyed Roxy Music...I have Country Life and Avalon on LP, as well as 801 Live, Manzanera's group; one of the most enjoyable live albums IMHO.

along with the "country music" LP (and yes, very hot cover art), i also have the "more than this" 45. production on their music was impressive... mark knophler uses similar textures in some of his "dark, airy" stuff like "you and your friend" and "iron hand". it's the kind of music that makes you melt into your chair and takes you far away.

love that stuff.

Hi Ninja,
The Wilko Johnson I know of played with Dr. Feelgood ( I think )
Switched his name round from John Wilkinson.

' Love Is The Drug ' as always been my favourite Roxy Music track but I haven't heard too much of their stuff.
Is it true that when King Crimson originally formed, Brian Ferry was almost the vocalist but for some reason didn't take the job ?
Cheers.

i have an old cassette of "manifesto" somewhere saw them on 'the old grey whistle test' one sunday night in '73 or '74 i can't remember if they performed "remake" or "every dream home". manifesto is my favorite though.

greg lake and fripp were childhood friends. michael giles, peter giles, and fripp were working together, peter (the bassist) left the band and lake took the job. neither of the giles brothers nor fripp could sing for beans, so lake was a welcomed addition.
ferry isn't mentioned anywhere, but who knows?
