Recently I read Larry Sandberg's book-The Acoustic Guitar Guide.

I enjoyed the book, it was informative, but also had some humorous moments. They weren't necessarily crack up, knee slapping moments--but still humorous.

I wanted to share one example.

In a Chapter titled-"It Takes All Kinds" he set it up-
Quote:
This book is about the steel-string acoustic flattop guitar...But let's take a quick look at some other kinds of acoustic guitars just to make sure you won't be happier with one of those instead.

17 pages later after covering 12 strings, classicals, flamenco guitars, archtops, etc. he writes
Quote:
Since air guitars are invariably electric, they are outside the sope of this book and are not included here. However, because of its low cost, ease of playing, and quick learning curve, you should seriously consider whether the air guitar is the instrument for you.

You may find this hard to believe, but there is a World Air Guitar Championship that has been going on for 14 years or so....

I've seen news clips from those championships before. The facial expressions of the contestants are priceless.
