I do not have a band ATM I'm too busy with school!

but when the summer is coming and I'm done with all the school work i plan on starting a Blues/Rock trio (Think Rory Gallagher, SRV, Hendrix and so on)
I already have a drummer that is interested all I need is a bass player....

sounds really cool :) I'm moving to B-town in August, maybe i could sit in with your band some day, if you'd ever need a slide guitarist

Of course it should.

I played bass and guitar in my prior church's band for about 10 years. We had more rehearsals and performances, in front of way more people, than all my other bands combined.

Well then I guess I'm in 2.

Um... I actually also just started a side project with one of my friends.

3!!

I fancy myself as a solo performer... bands get into creative battles unless you can find someone you really work well with, and I've never found anyone like that I can write with. I have someone I perform well with, but she's not a player or writer.

I'm trying to find a girl to sing and play guitar for me, and a drummer. I have one really great song that requires a female vocal, and some that need a backing vocal. If she can play guitar, it lets me play lead or piano for songs that need it - which many of them do.

I have a blues band coming together right now. We've played several times, and are in the process of making it a regular thing.

Hey TG! Wish you lived in N Georgia. I'd hook you up with my son, Reese. If you play that fretless like you say, I think y'all would sound great together.

I'm in a band and we play all types of rock.
But I have to admit that I've been thinking about
leaving because I don't feel comfortable playing with them.
There's just no "connection"
So I might try to form a blues/rock band with someone else or something..

Oh yea.

It's funny too, because it's the original band we started in high school in 2000 plus a new singer/rythm guitarist. Works nicely. We've recenetly reformed and have been writing new stuff and it's turning out great.

I just recently tried out as a rhythm guitarist with a band, practiced twice with them ... lead guitarist, bass, and drums. They seem to really like me but I'm not so sure about them yet. Nice bunch of guys but ...

1) not sure I'm happy enough with the music they want to play (old classic/british rock). Maybe I want more variety.

2) not happy with their skill level. The bassist seems kind of sloppy and the drummer seems like he follows us instead of providing the beat. it bothers me that I think I can play better than either of them.

Anyone else ever feel that?

All the time. I've played in a bunch of bands over the years, but none have functioned as well as this one.

tomk62, I feel exactly the same way.
I'm not saying that I'm pro at guitar but c'mon the 2nd guitarist
doesn't even know what Cmaj7 chord is..
And our bassist doesn't seem to know anything about music..

*sigh*

Yep. "Bluerock Country Club" We play blues, rock, and country (fancy that) . Two guitars, Bass, drums, female singer shares time with the lead singer and does backup. We all have regular lives so we mostly do parties, benifits, and solo shows. LOVE IT!

I feel you Tom- If you are feeling like this may not be the right fit...then it wont be. Think of it as a relationship if it feels wrong...then it is wrong (Unless you dont want to be right..)

Another band will come around.
