Finally, after 3 months of playing and learning the blues on my new American Deluxe through a crumby little 10w marshall i finally upgraded!!

I spent about 4 hours in a music store a few weeks ago playing all sorts of amps. sure enough tube amps ruled, but they have to be cranked so high to sound good, and this doesnt sit well with my apartment dwelling neighbours. I was so annoyed and was just gona stay with my piece of $h1t 10w.

Someone suggested I look at modelling amps. They arnt tube amps to be sure, but for practice they are excellent and some do really well at emulating classic amps. The next day in the music store I spent almost half an hour with a line 6 spider and couldnt make it sound good at all. either its too complicated, or just crap. regardless i didnt want a crap amp, or one that might sound good after 60 mins of tinkering with little buttons.

I tried a few more that were ok, but then i gave the roland cube 30x a go! for an amp of 200 euros cost its mega!! it has some excellent bluesy tones, perfect for playing along with live Rory stuff.

it also has a "squeezer", which is basically an attenuator, so it can be cranked to full gain and volume, thus sounding awesome, but still leaving the windows unbroken!

Its a simple practice amp, but will do the job nicely for me for a while.
I know i should now concentrate on learning more with my new guitar and amp, but i already want an american standard Tele. I was trying some amps using a rosewood candy cola tele and if i had space on the flexible friend i would totally have brought it there and then.

onward and upward i guess!
