Supro Lap Steel guitar when I was 6. My dad showed me the places to have the bar and told me when to move. After a few weeks, when I got a little bored whlie he was playing, he would gently kick me and nod, like, hey get in the right place! That was around 1962.

When i was 12 he fixed up a old harmony hollow body with F holes. I put a pickup on it and use to get in front of his amp and just let it feedback. I played his Gibson ES135 as well as his 1950 Martin. Then he helped me to get one of those early 1960's Epiphone Wilshire Deluxe with a tremolo. Used that up till I was 17 when i bought my first brand new Strat. Had 2 VOX Super Beatle amps that I played through (between the ages of 16-19).

Started the first time in 1973 on a brand new Léro Model 58 Dreadnought, which I still have. I was 28. Life interrupted about a year later, and I started up again in 2006, when I was 61.

This time I using electrics, but I still drag out the acoustics, and I'm about to turn 65

But I'm having fun, even if I'm just re-learning.

I started playing when I was in grade 10, so about 16 or 17 I guess but due to school and then going to university and the post-university "socializing" I couldn't really focus on it. 5 years ago when I started to settle down I was able to put alot more time into it.

I started playing music when I was 9 on the clarinet, switched to trumpet at 11, learned bass at 17, and started guitar at the ripe old age of 41. 8)

On piano when I was 8, on guitar I believe when I was 17 or 18. I am 25 now. My first guitar was a copy of a Les Paul, I believe it was Melodija Menges, manufactured in Poland or former Yugoslavia, something like that. I am from Serbia, so... It wasn't much of a guitar, it had great clean tone though.

I started when I was 13, got a cheap Silvertone Strat copy a little Kustom 15 watt solid state amp, played for like 7 months and said screw it I suck! Then everything sat in the case till i was about 15 1/2, I all of a sudden got the urge to play :? . Now at 19 im playing everyday and always learning something new while playing my American Vintage '57 RI Strat and Super Champ XD 8)

Started playing in 1993 when I was 12. I got a Goya dreadnought copy for Christmas that year. I have been obsessed with guitar ever since.

I started last year at age 25. My first guitar was a very old accoustic "lady" size guitar of unknown origin and last year I bought my full size guitar which is a Fender CD-60 accoustic.

The first time i started was when i was 8 with a Roy Clark no name begginers guitar. It didn't last but a few months if i remember correctly. Then 11 years ago i got a Jasmine by Takamine acoustic and taught myself what little i know now at 37. Since then i've bought and sold a few guitars not really worth naming. Now I have a Takamine EG334ce and a 50's Silvertone that i play through an Ibanez Troubadour T35 and a VOX VT15. I'm still waiting to get my first Strat or Tele which will be soon i hope.

I began gigging when I was 15, I was a singer in those days. The band fell apart when I was about 18, great days though. It was just a few years ago a friend got me in to guitars, I'll be forever in her debt. The best thing that could have happened to me, so Katie, if you're reading this THANKS
