I'm thinking of buying a new acoustic guitar and its my first one. I'm an adult but i'm still a fairly small female...so my question is should i buy a smaller cut down guitar or regular size? Which would be better given attention to the fact that i'm a beginner?

Hello AngelicDemon13,

Well lassie my thoughts are to get a full size guitar
just not a dreadnaught style, try O size.
Fender maks a GDP-100 parlor model it'll
fit you look for something like that.

Best of luck on your journey.

Cheers.

Hi,
+1 on a full size guitar.. I think you should go to the music store and try some on for size. If you are petite, a "thinline" style may be more comfortable.
Good Luck

Bill

Go try some out at a music store. That way you'll at least know what you are looking for / what feels comfortable for you.

If you are of small stature I'd probably go for a "folk" or "parlour" bodied guitar. If ist a good quality with a solid top then it'll still have a good volume and tone.

Cheers.

Hi ad13, I agree with the music store thing. Go try out a few and find out what works for you. I've been known to check out reviews on different types of gear and if I like what I read I'll go to a store and try it out. Then, if I like it I'll go home and order it online.

Definately go to a music store to try a few out. Some are wider than others according to what company makes it and you`ll need to see which one is more comfortable for you.

Yes, you must try them out first, otherwise how can you be sure to get something that's right?

While you're there, check the store's pricing. You may be surprised. Tell them you saw some stuff online - maybe they'll even cut you a deal and you can have your guitar that day!

+1 to all of the above.
If you learn to play a full size guitar, you can pick up almost any guitar, any time. That's a great feeling, since the guitar is such a widely played instrument.
And it's just a rule that you should try out the guitar you want to buy, at least once.
Enjoy playing!

Have you decided on nylon strings or steel?

Piezo pickups or straight acoustic?

Mahogany, Spruce, etc...

Price range?

Just some things to consider...

its always nice to start off with a good quality guitar..

but im not saying everyone should...

but.. if u really want a nice acoustic sound..

i would like to Advice to "MATONS" made in Australia..

i would put it in the same line as a Martin or anything..

u should ask music stores around for Matons..
