I'm in a band called the three amigos and a B****. My uncle is the lead singer and he's moving to Montana and getting married. Our bass guitarist is dead, and the drummer went physco. What do I need to do? I can't find another band that will let me join. :?:

 Holy crap. I really feel for you dude. Seriously, that's a bad way for a band to break up. (Except for your uncle getting married. Kudos to him.)

I guess all you can do is keep trying. Post some stuff on a bulletin board in guitar shops, or search craigslist or something. Eventually you'll find a band.

Dude! It sounds like you need some therapy! Seriously! That is a lot of heavy stuff to be going through! Check out Craig's List for your area or even the local paper. How about where people your age hang out and check if there is a community bulletin board or something. There may be something posted on it. Talk to other people that are in bands already. Who knows? They may want to add another guitarist! (I am guessing you play guitar and not bass by your username). Keep trying and don't give up. It will all work out in the end. You will be jamming in no time!

Switch to country music. That story you told is right out of a country song.

If you can't find another band to join, then you answered your own question.

Keep looking and, if there are people available, you'll find them.

In the meantime, keep practicing. You only "need" bands to perform. You can work on thing, and perfect your playing all by yourself in the meantime.

Just because you aren't in a band at the moment doesn't mean you can't play. Like was said before, practice and keep your chops up. But, until you find other players there's alway the solo thing. Put together a set you can perform on your own. You'll be working until you find the players you want.

Another piece of advice, and this may sound harsh ...

Don't come off as such a loser. What happened isn't good, but you come off as a whiner or loser unloading all these misfortunes like that right off the bat, and nobody wants a drama case or a "problem" person in their band, where they have to listen to your problems and get dragged down the hole with you.

What happened, happened. Get over it and move on. Dragging that baggage along and blurting out all the bad stuff that "happened to me" will not help you at all, and will make every potential band member avoid you like the plague.

Just sayin...

You don't really need a band, just learn to enjoy playing with yourself...that doesn't sound right for some reason...but anyways, bands to me, are like relationships, its best not to force yourself into any situation, just take time to find the right situation. So just practicing, playing and writing, then keep looking around for potential people to play with...then maybe look into a home recording setup...

Crazy things can happen to bands.

And their members.

I bet there are a LOT of weird stories out there.

I had a band member go through gender reassignment, for one example ...
