Just watched the latest Free Credit Report song  and lo and behold for a split second they showed the Fender logo on the headstock close enough to read it!
I know this might be petty, but the songs and the band we all love to hate,
playing Fender? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

hmmm is right. perhaps most people associate fender with quality, so they hope people will associate this site with quality as well.

I don't know about an endorsment, but they sure have a deal of some sort or they wouldn't let them show the headstock shape let alone the Logo for a split second. I hate them darn commercials, but the last one sure makes me want a Jaguar

With the recent price hikes, and in this economy, they want you to make sure to check your credit before buying one of their guitars

I think the odds that Fender endorses these guys, are about as good as actually getting a free credit report from them. I'll bet before long that if these guys continue to show the commercials, the headstocks will end up being digitally 'pixellated'.

I don't see why Fender would require that. these guys aren't selling anything specifically music oriented, and its probably a lot of free screen time for fender.

You might be right, but I've seen a fair amount of bands on TV that had logos on amps and even guitars 'blacked out' with tape when they were shown playing on TV (yeah, I know that this is a commercial). I don't know if that was a network requirement or a band requirement (i.e., you don't endorse us, then we don't endorse you).

I would suggest that the Credit report folks , called the Fender folks and told them about the concept... Fender my have donated the instruments, or maybe just said "sure no problem"... If Fender would have said no... the Credit guys would have called the next Manufacture on the list. Im sure Fender didn't get any money from it, just free advertising. Just a guess, but this is how it usually works.

Somehow, I don't think that multi-million dollar corporations are that generous. It probably just went 'under the radar', but seeing where this is being written at, not likely anymore!

They Probably called fender and said "We need X amount of Guitars and Basses for an ad campaign." Fender Prolly said back, "Ok, I'll let you have These cool instruments for $XXXX. Or you can have them for $XXXX minus 20% if you show the logo and Headstock a lot."

My nieces watch those horrible Disney Soap Opera's fro Pre-teens, and I've noticed they do the same thing, If there's guitars in it they're either all Fenders or all Gibsons with the logos and headstock in every shot.

Gotta love product placement. Don't you love in movies or TV when someone is walking around with a can of Coke/Pepsi/Beer and no matter where he walks or what direction he faces the label is always 100% clear straight on, nearly unobstructed view?

This is why I love the movie 'Repo Man'. Seriously, watch it--every 'product' in the movie (well, maybe not cars) is generic! It's hilarious just for that, and the movie itself came out in 1984!

That reminds me, has anybody who has seen 'Drowning Mona' noticed that every car in the movie is a Yugo?
