i'm learning how to apply standard notation (as in piano sheet music) to the guitar right now. it's awkward and a kinda slow process but i just started today so i guess i shouldn't be worried.

btw stratcat (or anyone else) didn't you say you could do it? if so what are some techniques you've learned. i'm not really having any trouble yet but any tip/ tricks for this would be very appreciated!!

Currently just starting to work on
SRV's version of "Tin Pan Alley"

Maybe not the best pick when you are just starting to get the use of your arm back but it is incredibly slow at 40bpm to the doted quarter note :) so maybe I won't break anything off.

I just picked up a bass in a moment of GAS so I'm relearning that particular skill set. Haven't touched one in 20 years but it's kinda fun to do it again.

A Brasilian song named ''How Insensitive/Insensatez''.
It's a bossa written by A.C.Jobim.
32 bars per verse filled with ''jazz'' chords.
Having played blues based music all my life it aint easy
but it's a challenge.

Trying to learn how to make my hammer ons sound like a picked note (Stevie Ray on Life without you) and learning Voodoo Chile by SRV and Hendrix, little bits and pieces of each then kinda mixin' them together. Also working on running on faith by Eric Clapton.

I've just been noodling around--picking up some new blues licks and trying out new riff ideas.

Recently I've worked a bit on adapting cello parts for bass.

I've tried open tunings and slide at various times in my life--but I'll be doing it again--this time I'll be devoting one guitar to an open tuning.

And if all goes well I should be trying to pick up some blues piano licks soon as well. (On piano)

To me one of the tricks to what you are referencing it to not play the note too hard, i use to try and choke the neck to death and it didnt work, once i lighted my death grip it fell together, also i find if i have more gain on going on when i do it it makes it easier, is i use 2 tubescremers, so i turn them both on to do that like on that run on Voodoo CHile, and also dont try and play jsut like SRV, you lose all the feel that way, just borrow it and make it fit for you

I have a hard time with pinch harmonics. Sometimes I just hit the right spot and sometimes I can't find that spot at all. I've been sort of focused on scales. I've been playing for 14 years or something but I only got into learning scales a year or two ago.

i found that using the small dunlop jazz III's or the dunlop stubbys helped me a bunch on pinch harmonics, plus i leave my pointer finger a little longer and the strings wear it down, i usr it for a percussive chunk when i play rthymn and that little longer nail helps me get that pinched marnonic

Right now I am working on an As I Lay Dying song, and I am also trying to get to a point where I can consistently pull off pinch harmonics.

I am also trying to work on soloing

I'm not trying to play just like SRV, I just would like to learn that technique and thanks for the tips.
