There is some music that is not appealing to me and some musicians that I am not very fond of but in the end all are following dreams and their hearts to create music. It has nothing to do with being an idiot............

Man oh man.

Allison Kraus is excellent. I have the Cd as well, and it is great.

i like the idea that at least one of my Idols has the sense not to milk a reunion into the ground. I would love to see Led Zep, i was too young when they ended, but it would certainly not be the same.

Springsteen really had a point with 'Glory Days'

Robert Plant is doing the smart thing and staying away from a Led Zep reunion:
1) Plant can't sing anything like he used to in the '70s
2) Jimmy Page can't play like he used to in the '70s, and
3) Bonzo is long time gone.

Before I get flamed, I am not saying Plant can't still sing and Page can't still play ... I am just saying that it is not "Led Zeppelin", even if that is what they calll themselves. Robert Plant is showing very good judgement in recognizing that. Even if you may not agree with me, Robert Plant does.

As for the new stuff, last night's Grammy performance was the first I heard it. It was okay ... the rocakbilly leanings were cool. I enjoyed it, but won't be downloading it any time soon.

i was never a big zepplin fan. i always found jimmy page
and john bonham to be overrated, page the main one.
but i did like some songs and i thought plant had a good voice.
some time ago plant did admit he could not hit some of the notes
anymore. so why go out and try when the critics are going
to be on him like a pack of wolfs.

Absolutely With Chet on This!!! Their Album is great and I seen them last June at the Greek. That was even Better than the Album. The most Unique Concert I'd Ever Been to. Krauss has been one of my favorite voices since her first Album with Union Station (I kinda thought she was cuter when she was chunky).

I got that album quite some time ago, I got it because of Plant... Didn't know who this "Allison" girl was. Turns out I really liked it. I don't think we should flame any artist who puts his/herself out there for all to see. You either like it or don't.
Its just a case of everybody doing their own thing, and I for one support that. I am very disappointed to se fellow musicians call other Idiots, it just isn't right...

i did'nt understand the part when plant said 'we just threw this thing together in three days'.

Well I understood that Robert Plant was not warm about the idea, the style and the mix of people. So they decided to give it a fair try, a three days meeting, head scratching, think tank, to see how everyone felt about it, sing along and discover affinities between themselves and it worked. After that they met again to do the album. Plant said that if the three days trial were to prove itself unproductive, they would have stop the whole thing and return home after a big meal and a party. Well something like that.

zep had a pretty deep country influence too, they were a real mosaic of styles, people only focus on the (obvious,) blues, but really, country, folk, skiffle, etc. you find a lot of different roots if you listen to more than just a couple tracks.

Heck Yeah, Braun Y Aur Stomp, Hot Dog, Down By The Seaside (chock full of country lead fills). Really, as a youth, I thought I liked Rock and Roll music 'cause I loved Zeppelin. As I got older I realized I liked Blues, Country, Funk, Ragae, Rock, and Folk thanks to Led Zeppelin.

I've been an Alison Krauss fan for many years, even named my youngest daughter after her. She is an extremely talented musician, song writer, and producer. I've seen her live with Union Station and it was quite a moving experience. I know bluegrass and country is not for everyone but if you want to hear or see some great musical artistry you may want to give her a REAL listen. If anyone is interested I'd highly recommend getting a hold of her live concert dvd titled "Alison Krauss + Union Station Live", well worth watching. If you're lucky enough to get a chance to see her live don't miss the opportunity, you won't be disappointed. :)

Allison does Folk music and happens to have one of the best female voices in the entire music industry. In my opinion at least.

Anyways, I agree, I thought it was odd to pair them. I have only heard the song that they played at the grammys though, so I cant comment on their chemistry.

Battle of Evermore Live with Alison and Robert was worth the price of admission. I'd have paid $35 just for that.
