And ... I just got off the phone with our grand prize winner. Huge Mayer fan, currently minoring in guitar performance, and saw Mayer play the Continuum guitar onstage just a month ago. Completely speechless and says that we've "made his year."

And, so concludes another successful Fender.com giveaway!! Look for a quick wrap-up article in Fender.com News in the weeks ahead once the prizes have been shipped and photos have been received.

Good for you Randy! You've been a member of the forum since July and this was your first post? Where you been buddy? You have got to get on here and tell us more about your win and yourself.

Hey guys!

I'm the ridiculously lucky individual who won the Continuum Strat. Sorry, I should have posted here instead of making a new topic, but Brad's incredible news yesterday had me so pumped I clicked before I read this topic in its entirety.

As I said on the other thread, I'm on cloud 9 right now. Winning this is all I can think about. There are definitely photos and videos to come when the guitar arrives. As Brad said, I'm studying music and play guitar constantly. I stayed up until midnight to download Continuum from iTunes when it dropped at the beginning of this year and had it under constant rotation. I swear I didn't take that album out of my car CD player for 2 months. I caught John in February playing down in Columbia, SC and again not even a month ago here in Raleigh, NC. Winning this master-built strat that John actually played, tops it off to say the least.

I have to say, you guys posting on here are truly some of the most gracious, accepting people I've ever seen that have lost a contest! I too was checking my e-mail all day, keeping an eye out on my cell phone for numbers I didn't recognize, etc. As great as it is to show all the positivity for those that won, I just want to make sure it doesn't make me a bad person for being just slightly frustrated that I DIDN'T WIN!!! I saw the posts about the odds, etc, and obviously getting my hopes up was never a smart idea- but of course I did, and I had some pretty sweet ideas about playing that strat for at least a few weeks before storing it away somewhere in the interest of protecting its sentimental/historical/financial value. I absolutely love strats, they're the only electric guitars I own, but my luck with them just hasn't been all that great- not that I've ever been lucky enough to shop for one at the "Fender Custom Shop" or anything like that, but I guarantee you that the average stratocaster that John Mayer plays when he's hanging out at home has to be about 100 times nicer than some of the ones I've had over the years!

There is a question on the "I WON" post about the age of the winner. What a thrill to know a young'n is getting the Continuum. I'm 59 and I bought lousy guitars in my 20's and quit playing, then my guitar playing improved drastically when I bought a good used Takamine 20 some years ago.

I'm playing bass (Fender P) in a classic rock cover band now with guys who have real special guitars and in a praise band (Peavey active bass) with real special guitars too. When I do play guitar now it is a Squier '51. I sold my "crafted in Japan" 78 reissue start to a young guy last year who is improving.

My guitar colleagues are very excited about me getting the JM#2 prize. I'll play it in practice and it will definitely get into the hands of the better players. I gave one of the guitar players my John Mayer Trio TRY CD yesterday to study the arrangements and lines JM plays. They have suggested that I can switch to guitar for a number or two with the other guy who can play bass. We also will have it ready for the guests who routinely show up at our gigs and sit in.

I'm happy to hear that both guitars are going to be played. I will have the issue of the autograph wearing down, but mayber Fender and the local luthier can clear coat it for me. On the JM website it looks like he is playing a JM Signature on one of the videos.

I'm calling this guitar JM#2. Look for pics after it arrives meeting new friends (EJ?, JV?) and visiting the Stevie Ray Vaughn statue. Where in the world is JM#2?
