i'd play either if I won it. I'd put a clearcoat over the Mayer signature on the Cypress Mica one, because it's in a spot where it would wear away over time. I'd still play it though.

I'd for sure play the Continuum. It's masterbuilt, made to be played. Plus, Mayer's been beating on it all tour, and I would rightfully do so as well. It'd be a shame to see that thing sit in a glass case.

Firstly, I did just pick the winners just a little bit ago and they have been notified via e-mail; subject line is "YOU'RE A WINNER of the Fender® John Mayer Summer Tour Giveaway!"

One word of caution about this and all future giveaways we hold here is that you should not necessarily expect immediate notification of the winners. Winners are notified via e-mail and given a few days to respond; then they have to call in to confirm eligibility; then they have to complete and fax in some paperwork which allows us to share their information. Easy enough but sometimes it can take a bit!

Update: just spoke with the second prize winner via phone. Always a pleasure to give away prizes to super-enthusiastic folks like this. Asked him to come here and "out" himself. :D

O well, congrats to whoever the lucky, lucky, lucky winners are!

I really wish I won though, I would cherish that guitar for the rest of my life-I wouldn't even think about selling it.

The e-mail hit, I called, I e-mailed my band, and I am HAPPY. And stunned.

Great seeing you here online, Randy!

Randy and I had a nice chat earlier and he's the kind of appreciative feller to whom we really love giving stuff away. He's already talking about how the second-place guitar is going to fill a void in the current gear arsenal of his Austin-based band, the Blue Howlers.

As of this writing I have still yet to hear from the grand prize winner ... that individual has until Wednesday evening to contact me or an alternate grand prize winner will be selected.

In other words, mrsmayer90, all hope is not lost (yet).
:D
