Is it possible to order an American Standard Strat (Lefty) in Shoreline Gold? If so I can't figure out how, but I may also be retarded. Anyhow, please enlighten me, thanks.

Welcome to the forums.

Looking at the product page - http://www.fender.com/products//search.php?partno=0110422705, the only colors listed are what would be available for ordering. Unfortunately, Shoreline Gold is not one of them.

Fender tends to limit what colors they make Lefty guitars in - and the American Standard actually has a lot more colors than normal - this year they have 5 colors with either Maple or Rosewood fretboards.

The American Deluxe Lefty only comes in a 3-tone Sunburst.

The Standard Lefty has 6 colors with either Maple or Rosewood fretboards, which is also an increase if I remember correctly.

It would have to be a Custom Shop order, which would be rather expensive to get only the color changed.

I could be very wrong, and probably am, but I believe that Hendrix actually played a right handed guitar strung up for a lefty at one point in time. (So instead of the strings being "EADGBE" it was "EBGDAE". Then he played it left handed.)
You could then get any color you like. If you can deal with that.

Let me go check to see if I am correct.

EDIT: Yep, I am correct. Just look at the vids on youtube.

After taking a quick pass through musiciansfriend.com, it doesn't appear as though any of the popular Strats come in Shoreline Gold this year.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I suppose I can always go with 'blizzard pearl', also a great color.
