I'll be watching, not so much for the award winners, but to see the gear and who is performing. Sir Paul will be there...

http://www.grammy.com/

I don't dis anyone that has achieved this kind of recognition in the music biz. I don't agree with all of the ones that get nominated, or even win, but I do respect what they have done to get where they are.

Anyone else watching?

Mike, I hear you. I've even considered joining the Academy to vote, but you have to have released a CD and my CD isn't close to being completed (it must be released and distributed extensively, preferably through traditional "brick 'n' mortar" outlets) even if I was ready to pony up the $100 membership fee. I'll watch some of it, but The Return of Sherlock Holmes is on PBS in this market during the first hour of the telecast so I may miss who wins the Rap/Hip Hop awards. Can't believe those awards dominate this year's discussion. Sales of Rap and Hip Hop CDs are declining at a rate almost twice that of other popular genres.

I lost faith in the Grammys when I was a teenager, the year that Christopher Cross ("Sailing") won Best Album over Pink Floyd's "The Wall". That was the moment I realized my musical tastes had departed from the mainstream, and I don't think they've ever come back.

I don't know if I'll watch or not. I guess it depends on what time the NHRA is over and what else is on.

+1 SBLS. I am not particularly a fan but that performance was great.

And I think it was a Strat, but noticed that the top part of the guitar was carefully hidden in shadows the whole time so you couldn't quite tell. But I don't think Teles come in that color, so I think it was.

currently signed to Warner Bros. Records.

The band's name, Bloodsimple, comes from a term coined by detective novelist Dashiell Hammett. The term apparently describes the addled, fearful mindset people are in after a prolonged immersion in violent situations. The term was coined in the novel Red Harvest, which is also the title of Bloodsimple's second album
had no idea, thought it was the name of a movie.
