There was Robert Plant's solo album in 1990 called "Manic Nirvana".

Simple question: what guitarist was playing there? (for I don't think it was Page)

This was the first solo album he did without Robbie Blunt, whose guitar work on the first Plant solo albums is purely exquisite. However, Plant wanted to get more raw, so he then hooked up with a much younger band (I believe everyone was new for that album, not just the guitar player). I can't quite remember the guitar player's name, though ... sorry, I am not not much help.

Francis Dunnery played with Robert Plant at some point in his solo career. Check out FD solo albums for some nice guitar work.

I think his best line up Since Zeppelin. Caught them at The Thomas and Mack Center in Vegas 1990 or 91. Serious Musicians and hardest Rock plant did outside Zeppelin.
