Out doing errands, in pocket was a 20% off coupon for Sam Ash. Stopped in.

Metallic red Classic Player Jaguar. Gaudy and so beautiful, it was stupid.

What a farking gorgeous and perfect-playing and fine-sounding instrument, right off the wall.

Out came the chequebook. 'Did something to stimulate the economy.

'Considering one of those bad boys for decades. 'Been blowing surf and lounge and jazz and folk rock and show tunes and pop for two weeks and...shee-it, ain't much that guitar can't do, stuck into the old, bought-used Cyber-Twin.

Fender, you won. Again. This picker did, too.

GAS may have won but you have no regrets, right? They way you are gushing over your new Jaguar, I would say it was a good thing! Congrats!

The only 2 problems with GAS is if theres a bill soon or the wife will get pissed. Was she cool with the purchase or not?

And the Cyber-Twin . . . I love them, but I fear I'll never own one.

GAS can be both beautiful and horrible . . . but my wife has been my X for many years so I buy whatever my conscience and disposable income allow.

Thanks, folks, for sharing the joy. Jaguars and Jazzmasters are so shamefully underrated...

...personally, plainly prefer them to Strats and Teles (tho have those).

Ain't got a digital camera, therefore no pics. Sorry, esteemed colleagues.

'Did not tell spouse; paid for the axe in cash with "cigarette money" account. And by and large, she does not care and certainly does not keep score.

By the way, "cigarette money account" means, the cost of a pack per day is tucked away and has purchased veritably all the gear over the years...

...and not perpetrated horrors upon to these beloved lungs. (From the USN SEALS, "If you can't breathe, nothing else in your life is important.")

And further by the way, the metro Chicago) Sam Ash exprerience was totally excellent, as usual.

Congrats, JSJH. I'm with you 100% on Jaguars and Jazzmasters. I just bought a Classic Player Jazzy two weeks ago, and I am loving it! I liked the Jaguar a lot too, but I decided to stay with the same scale length as my Strat.

No chance of borrowing a camera to give us a look? The "other" guitar gang needs you to represent! 8)

Just remember that if your GAS attack is truly a marriage breaking concern, the guitar can always be.......sold. If you bought a good one, it is not money wasted. I look at guitars as a weird kinda savings plan. If you spend the money on, say, beer and food, it is gone forever. If you buy a guitar, it still holds its value, especially Fenders.

I used to believe in 'Disposable Income'. Not anymore. My GAS has gotten a good dose of Saltpeter, all I need to do is look at my savings statements. I learned a long time ago that GAS is no more than a self-indulgence, and it is definitely NOT a competition, either with someone else or even myself.

Cigarette money buys guitars? Alright, that's it, I'm starting smoking now and quitting next week. Sounds like a pretty good racket.

And by the way, the used Cyber-Twin was sitting in a GC just over 4 years ago with a $600 tag and one pedal and the cover missing and a few dings and needing tubes.

NO regrets, what a thoroughly hip amp!
