since 24 hour opening its just been one debacle after another. I'm not sure what weve gained is worth the price were paying. I benefit from 24 hour opening but would lose it in a heartbeat at the moment.

Brad said in more or less so many words that The Company wishes to see activity here expand. Which in many ways is a good thing.

I agree with you about the 24 hour issue, but I suspect it is here to stay. It does mean we need 24 hour moderation, though, in view of this morning's foolishness. Unless Brad can hook the "report" button to a loud buzzer by his bed and kinda be on call round the clock, like a junior doctor.

That would be fairly inhumane, though. The hours he appears to work already seem exhausting, from what we can tell...

Why should it all fall on Brads shoulders. Even with fast action it will never look good on paper. One of my old bands managers is a doctor in computer science and programing, you'd never believe the amount of work that goes into a web page of this standard. Take a look at other guitar sites, the majority are visualy mundane to say the least.
Its absolutely unfair that mr Traweek should constantly clean the work he's already done.

I must have missed something  I have to keep reading along the other post.

On the plus side, it's caused us all plenty of excitement, hasn't it?

Cheers - C

I am suprised it does not happen more often. I was wondering why I could not find the offending post on any of the boards. Thats the first time I heard of Brad having to wipe them out like that so I can only imagine. I had a early Target Match this morning so I had not checked the board.
Are you a competitive shooter? if so, handguns, rifles, archery?

I was responsible for two boards in my last job, and I know how much work it was to manage. We farmed it out to two people who worked 8 hour shifts. We also had an automatic dirty-word filter that would block certain things from posting in the first place, which maybe Fender should look into if they haven't got one already.

But yes, you quickly get acquainted with the lowest tendencies of that small minority of human beings, and some days it doesn't seem worth it. Plus it's very hard to justify the $ value of more sophisticated moderation like we get here - but Brad, if anyone asks you to, we can help! (For example, I'm newly in the market for an HSS Strat and a nice Fender amp, when six months ago I thought I would end up a Gibson girl....)

The nice thing is, though, once a devoted moderator has worked hard to establish the right tone and culture, then the members start to self-moderate and report or comment on inappropriate behavior. Which it sounds like all of you did!

If you can't, then it doesn't matter anyway
You will never understand it 'cause it happens too fast
