Have anyone had dealings with Macari's in London and the Colorsound pedals they sell? My Son paid a good bit for a old one and we would like to get a few of the new ones they have. My main one would be the One Knob Fuzz then a Tone Bender one.

The pedals look severely overpriced. I dont like coloursound stuff anyway but theres good competition from arguably better manufacturers for less money.

Check these pedals out I seen someone using the Peachfuzz one but the prices  it did sound nice though. Make me want to go into the business making these things.

I'm amazed that anyone buys that stuff. I certainly dont get it, theres far better available if you take the time to look for smaller builders. You wont pay some premium for over stylized mundane effect. The whole boutique thing has just gone too far. When a builder emerges that will build a one off specificaly for a single customer, that will deserve the title of boutique and command prices that dwarf current boo tick jobs.

Someone gave me a coloursound wah in the early 90's. I threw it away. The tone was terrible and it altered the tone of the guitar when it was switched off quite drasticaly.

Hey,

I have a Yellow Hybrid circuit Colorsound (recent) and it's the best pedal I own by far. I think what you pay for at Macari's is that it's literally owned by the same family that would have made Page's famous MKII and all the other original Tone Benders, etc.

They have an FB page now too - https://www.facebook.com/SolaSound

Plus, David Main of D*A*M makes a lot of their pedals - they're all hand-wired, etc. and that takes time = money.

I'd say, if you are able to, go in-store and demo a few and see what you think before you listen to anyone else.

:D

Hi CV: I go in Macari's often. Father and son; nice, helpful, knowledgeable and amazingly well connected people. As it happens my wife has certain treatments (leg-waxing, etc) performed by a woman who turns out to be married to Macari Junior, so there's no end to unexpected connections.

None of which is any use to you - and I don't own any Coloursound pedals so I can't help you there either. But I can pick 'em up by the truckload for you if it would be helpful. I doubt that would save you any money, but I'm happy to oblige if you wish.

Cheers - C
