I have phases, where i play all there songs and stuff. i had an Bob Dylan phase, Eric Clapton phase and Beatles phase. Now its SRV, i have my strat tuned to Eb and i actually have a use for it! (unlike the rest of my phases)

anyway i was wondering if i should put an SRV pickguard on my strat, I've always liked the pickguard, and I don't want to buy a new SRV guitar even though there is one not far from me for $850 used. I want to know how much does pickguards like that cost

please and thanks on your opinions!

1 - Nothing wrong with phases as long as they keep you playing, which is what it's all about.

2 - You are not SRV, forget the PG

3 - $850 for an SRV is a great deal, get it and change the PG

I have seen them pretty cheap on ebay. I dont remember how much but not expensive at all. I say do it. You can always take it off if you want.

you could just save up for the guitar since the pickguard won't really do anything to enhance your playing... you may grow out of the phase then as well and the pickguard may have been useless to get

The guitar is great. The pickguard is...not so great. Get the guitar if you can. That is a great price.

I also went through phase after phase and finally sticked with the SRV phase, it's the only one that hung on.

I say do whatever you want to, if you want the SRV guitar then get it, it is a good price. If you want to put a black pickgaurd over a sunburst then do it, there is no law saying that SRV is the only one allowed to have a black pickguard over sunburst. And pi$$ on everybody that tries to rain on your parade.

DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO KEEP THE INTEREST SPARKED!!!

I agree with this 100%. I have a JM Decal on one of my guitars because I am in a John Mayer Phase. I dont care what anyone else thinks of it. I like it. I think the SRV Pick guard will look good on your existing guitar. If you dont want it on your guitar anymore take it off and hang it up. It will look cool on the wall too.
