What did everyone think of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band?

I thought they were cooking pretty good tonight. Would have liked to have heard Born in the USA though just because the crowd would have went nuts.

It was a great performance, IMO.

Ever since that Janet Jackson/Justin Timberfag debacle they've had some great acts, Stones, Petty, the Boss. Keep with the real rockers I say.

Good rapport with the crowd and some custom ad libs for the Super Bowl. A great job by the band.

Very surprised he opened up with "Tenth Avenue Freeze Out" :D I like his early stuff. Not a big fan of his newer music. I was just glad his strap locks didn't give out at the end. :P

Great setlist choice (for my predictions 3 out of 4 aint bad) after a epic touchdown run before the halftime show "Born To Run" sounds fantastic (not saying it sounds bad before then just kinda cooler tonight).

Not as good as Tom Petty last year, but I thought it was alright. I kinda had a feeling that he'd to "glory days." I did think it was lame to start out on a silouette with the sax player holding the guitar and then throw it away for the first song.
It was nice to see Labamba and Pender along with Max Weinberg, too.

Yeah saw that - and was going to just start a thread on it until I saw your post!

Is it a "road worn" or did he earn those scuffs? :D

Thats the track track that grabbed me about him too. I can see it making a nice opener all that brass section swelling up to the band kicking in.
Of his works Wild, innocent and estreet shuffles my fave lp. The absolute contrast between that and greetings from NJ is amazing.

Wish i coulda seen that show.

ancient nocaster or broadcaster with a 6 saddle bridge and a specialy wound bill lawrence bridge pickup.

Now thats a tribute guitar waiting to happen, but bruce would want it sold for MIM prices.

Even at masterbuilt tribute prices i'd snap one up.

tom, when I said it was road worn, I was bringing out it was from years of playing. Not done at the factory.

I about hit the floor laughing when bruce crotch tackled the camera guy while doing that knee slide. I also noticed the boss was dodging alot of those "belt it out" notes he was famous for in his earlier days. still a good performance overall.

I also liked the "extended band lineup" and who was that other female acoustic player? :?:

I've pretty much dismissed springsteen since he got involved with Patti Scialfa or whatever her name is. If it was a long legged redhead playing acoustic it was her.

LATER:

Looked around for a vid. The first half of the show is removed by the NFL :(
Scialfa? is on acoustic guitar for the 2nd half vid.
