Bit of comment and add to some of the particularly well-spoken above points.

Yes, 'agree, a 'real man' should be equally comfortable, presentable (and lucid) in casual, business, rough-work, outdoors clothing...and a tuxedo.

It certainly adds if one has a wide range of artistic, literary, musical and cultural tastes and knowledge, and general knowledge.

Personally, 'will NOT own blue jeans. Much, much, much too trite and overused.

And playing rock and roll is fine, however, this picker prefers lounge, surf, folk-rock, world, jazz, classical, island and show tunes. Playing clean leaves no doubt in one's mind of their skill level.
