Basic welding
Basic plumbing
Grilling
General tool knowledge (which you seem to have)

Body language. This is important. When a man nods his head during a conversation, it means that he understands and wishes to move on to a different subject. When a woman nods her head during a conversation, it means she is interested and wishes to hear more about the subject. Remember that.

The most important skill a "real" (whatever that means) man should have is the skill of seeing the world as it is, without adding more than is actually there.

THis means not assuming knowledge about men, women, tools, bacon, good ol' boys, or guitars.

A man can be master in nothing, but he must be skillful in many things. Skills... You don ’t have to be an expert of them all at once. You merely have to accumulate and build up a certain number of skills as the years go by.

+3!
I will probably never learn anything about guns and merely the basics of cars, maybe basic welding, nothing about American Football or Baseball. But lots of things about football/soccer, hockey, volleyball, tennis, opening beers in all sorts of ways (including a lighter), how to roll a joint, computer stuff, guitar stuff, general art stuff, history, physics and basic chemistry.

And I'm really impressed by you Americans that you invented the bottle-cap-twister-thingy! Even Heineken, my favourite brand, uses it!

Now that you have all plowed through the standard 'good 'ol boy', jock strap, tailgate stuff' consider knowing how to engage the services of a really sharp family law attorney and having a prenuptual agreement drawn before you get married, AND having the @#$%^ insist on it as a condition to marriage.

Having listened to his mother on that score, my son's property settlement agreement was $3million as opposed to $10 million. Now I don't expect most of you to be looking at those kinds of numbers, but the concept may save your @#$ big time. 8)

I hate to tell you this Doc, but Real Men don't get married.
