What you're seeing is, IMHO, a direct side effect of the little experiment of being open 24 hours a day -- whereas tensions and arguments would frequently cool off overnight before they don't have a chance to now. Bottom line, as someone stated above it's your responsibility as the poster to not fuel the fire. If you see something completely out of line here, rather than fueling the fire with a response instead bring it to my attention at ForumAdmin@fender.com -- you'd be surprised how very, very few abuse reports I actually receive!

So as long as the Fender Forum doesn't get to the ridiculous level of negativity that can often be found and seen at Harmony Central, I don't think its too bad....

I don't think the bass forum is bad at all.

The arguements I get sick of are the "Fenders suck" "Gibsons suck" "Deans suck" etc. crap. 99% of the guitars they mention are great guitars. There are very, very few major name-brand guitar companies that truly "suck". Some just dont fit YOU personally.

It's a bit liking saying "Gold jewelry is crap" because you look better in silver and/or like it better (ok horrible analogy but you get the point) :P

Gibsons are great guitars, Fenders are great guitars, Deans are great guitars, Ibanez are great guitars etc etc etc. Get over yourselves and get over your favorite guitar brand. Thank you drive thru :D

I hate to say it but I agree with your opinion Brad! It would be a shame to have to go back to restricted hours, especially for our overseas members, but it may come to that unless we can get along!

Yes, it seems to have changed a little in the past several weeks, but we've been through this before and the good forum survived! :)

Agreed. I like the hours now. I will do my part in trying not to fuel the fires. RK

Well,

I enjoy the good conversation and banter of the musicians here in the Lounge. I also find that many members have a great sense of humor - which always brightens my day! I have no time for negativity and "bashing" therefore I choose not to get involved on those types of threads. This forum is for me / us to enjoy and I will continue to do so.......thank you very much.

I think that is only half of it Brad. The other half is the large influx of new members caused by the kickoff contest. I think it is the combination of the new personalities and the 24 hour a day access that triggered it - I do not believe that just opening it up to 24 hour access would have had this effect.
Just my opinion...

Thanks Brad. I know that a lot of us here do not want to report stuff unless we REALLY feel the need. Thank you for your hard work. BTW I love the new hours, and I would hate if Fender set time again. It is more convenient for our brothers and sisters across the waters east and west. Have a great day.

I guess that's easier said than done.

I try to stay positive, but the answer to some questions is "no."

I believe the situation started much earlier, maybe the hours and contest amplified it ,but I dont think they are the root cause.I wish I had the answer, but I will try not to be part of the problem.

I say, bring Eddie Van Helen back !!
We all had somebody to blame for everything then,we didn't notice anybody else.
Yeah !! I say " Come back Eddie "

Personally, I haven't noticed much difference in the forums, apart from the surge of new guys. I think they just need time to settle in, we're accustomed to receiving them singularly, I feel it will smooth out in a week or two.
It is probably our employ to be patient..... 8)
