I saw this on another forum, and brought the question here.

How are retailers(Guitar Center, Sam Ash, Mom & Pop, Online, etc.) going to handle returns, exchanges, and the resale of this series? :?

Will it be considered a "blem" item?
Will it be a Scratch n' Dent?
Will they gonna try to pass it off as new still?

IMO alot of the supposedly brand new basses at GC and SA are already "Road Worn".

Zod, Zod, Zod..... Didn't you win something recently? It was "road worn" wasn't it. I mean it was the demo from NAMM right?
They would probably look at it and see if any new marks were on it and they would check the condition of the manufactured wear. I read that "other" forum post too. They are a bunch of donkeys :hehaw::heehaw: over there. Don't hang out to long or we will start seeing "Official Double D (DD) Friday posts with pics" on Fender.com.
How is that new guitar anyways? It is acoustic, correct?

Yes I did. :D

And how would they know what was there already and what was not? Is there some chart or diagram showing the Road Worn factory relicing for each guitar/bass? :?

What "other" forum are you referring to? It sounds like you are referring to HC. I don't hang out there anymore.

Don't know, I have not received it yet. Yes, it's acoustic.

HarmonyCentral.com I think I spelled it correctly. It is another forum.

Zod. They have pictures in advertisement, and I wouldn't be surprised if the stores and etailers didn't have detailed retailer/distributor info complete with pics for the whole RW series. If worse came to worse they could just look at a new one.
Your guitar is lost in the mail. Is it a NAMM display. I heard Texasguitarslingers amp arrived with a midget clown hiding in it.

As long as it is a female midget clown, with some DD's.

Harmony Central is correct. I do not know if it is a NAMM display guitar or not. I have not had any correspondence with Brad since he sent me an e-mail stating that I had won 3rd place, in which I responded the info he asked for. I know/hope it will eventually show up. I am sure Brad is super-swamped since NAMM, and I am not sweating it. I had checked them out at Sam Ash the other day, I am excited that I won. 'Tis a nice geetar.

It's funny how you buy a new bass(or guitar) from GC or SA, one that has been on the wall or display. Everyone and their mother has touched, banged, and sneezed on that bass, not to mention playing it after using the restroom without washing their hands. Then when you try to return it to the store, some employees wanna bust out a magnifying glass to look it over and get all nit-picky about things. They are so worried about losing their commission or whatever.

I saw this question posted and it really got me wondering about things.

I think you are just not supposed to be claiming you got a "BLEM", since its a relic. There's no "hey, this is a newer scratch, not from factory!"

Unless its some tuning issue, I don't believe they would take returns 'cos of the finish hehehe

It is funny, buy a scratch-and-dent and get it a little cheaper than MAP, or buy Road Worn and get charged almost $1000. What is going to keep companies from selling their scratch-and-dents as In-Store-Custom-Relics and charge more money for them?
