Now that Obama is our president, I only have one grievance with him: He don't sling no six string.
But if he did, what music would he play? What would be his weapon of choice? Do tell. :D :D

Hi Stratmastah!: I'm British, and it is well known that our previous Prime Minister, Tony Blair, was in a band when he was younger and is to this day a Strat player. I never get into party politics here but on the whole I think most would agree that an electric guitar playing leader didn't help noticeably. Gave him and Bill Clinton something to chat about on the phone apparently: probably that's about it...

Incidentally, I read that during his time in office Tony Blair was given a total of 27 guitars as official gifts, several of them desirable Fender Custom Shop jobs. Unfortunately for him our rules on public office-holders receiving gifts meant that he had to leave every single one of them behind when he stepped down. Frustrating, huh?

Cheers - C

He enjoys R&B & hip Hop...60's Strat would have that tone.

Well, perhaps not if the Gallagher brothers are invited again too...!

Stratmastah!, I think all official state gifts end up in a big vault somewhere. I have a foggy memory of seeing a TV item about it: mostly it's all antiques, paintings, rare books - that kind of stuff that leaders give each other on visits. And in amongst it all a row of nice guitars. I saw a list of what they all were once, but I don't seem to be able to put my finger on it at this moment.

I'm sure the White House has a similar basement full of saxaphones given as gifts in the Clinton years, now gathering dust...

Cheers - C

Well the way i see it is-
Those guitars were most likely bought with tax payers money and undoubtedly belong to the treasury now. I can think of four british citizen fender devotees who should be entitled to that rebate.

If new no-labour gave us the pic of them i'd have my faith in democracy restored again and vote. Though it would be cast tory.

I reckon Whambama would make a great lenny kravitz tribute and should be presented with a cherry red V.
I could just see him singing mr cab driver with the full on 'whoo whoo woo wu wu woooo' bit.
Or even next election 'are you gonna vote my way'.

Can you imagine what a anti-climax living in the whitehouse must be.

Love or hate him King George the 2nd seemed to leave on happy terms, despite a hard couple of terms.
Whambam'as got it made. 'Sunny side of the street' by van morrison is my pick for his personal signature song.
