I think this was my first post for the Fender Lounge Forum. :D
You could tell that I was happy to find this Forum.
So many MIA members on this thread, miss them all and wish them the best of everything.

Personally, I'd prefer to see an "amp accessory" section where tube rolling, speaker swaps, etc, could be discussed.

Not to repeat myself, but...

As a subject for discussion, songwriting has nothing to do with Fender guitars. Fender runs this site to promote their products.

There are dozens of songwriting boards all over the Interweb where you can share recordings, lyrics and critiques with other songwriters.

If you want to post videos of your band, there's more than enough YouTube to go around.

Why should Fender waste their bandwidth?

This was discussed several years ago along with a recording
forum area, but not much happened back then...

Just a forum where you can put things other than directly Fender related topics.

It's all well and good it being a Fender forum, which is fair enough they pay for the upkeep, however as with all forums a community builds and it's only natural that they also want to talk to each other about things other than the primary theme of the forum.

Most places go about it with a "General" forum.

The only issue with that is you often find it becomes almost as busy, if not more so than the topics the board should be dedicated to.

It's a tricky one.

It seems that the Fender Lounge gets more than its share of discussions that are not directly related to Fender.

And Five Years Later, this thread gets exhumed from the archives...

It certainly does, although it doesn't seem very consistent on which threads stay and which go, not at all.

I'm a bit surprised that Fender doesn't have a songwriter's package, like Gibson does.
A songwriter's package with a matching forum might be welcomed?

i've tried writing lyrics and let's just say it wasn't too good. okay it really sucked.

i think i'm pretty decent at writing music though.

Keep writing bad lyrics, but don't show anyone. Before you know it, they'll start to get better, and you can start to show 'em off.

Clever lyrics are best, but not as important as a good vocal hooks and melodies.

Geez, talk about a blast from the past! Gotta say my songwriting is much better than when I was 17. I just realized that this may have been some of the best advice I'd ever recieved. Man, I love this forum.

I'd still support a songwriting-specific forum. People have been talking about this for 5 years Brad. How 'bout it?

My fault completely CRGM. I like to read through old threads sometimes, many great posts, missing members that posted interesting information about Fender products and other music related subjects. This thread was the first I posted in, on this Forum. A bit of nostalgia on my part.
