I have one of my e-mail addy's in my profile here, a few respected members of this forum have contacted me through it. That's fine with me, that's why I put it up. But.... this morning I received an e-mail from someone "claiming" to be a member, asking for photo's of a guitar I don't even own. This person claimed to be a member here, but ommitted to mention their user name. I deleted the mail right away, as I could smell a rat. I know there are others here, who post their e-mail addy's within the forum. Just a warning folks, be careful.

You know BF, there was a guy in the news last week who was conned out of his life savings. How dumb can people really be? It was a gang from Nigeria, posed as a young beauty who wanted to be friends  This guy fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Sad as it is, I couldn't stop laughing at the sheer stupidity  As they say... there's one born every minute.

I really have no idea bruno, I didn't reply to find out  The mail said he saw me post pix of a vintage Tele, which I didn't, that was his first mistake. He seemed very keen for me to reply, I thought otherwise. I just thought I'd warn others here, just to be on the safe side.

Reminds me of the old scam...They rob your car and bring it back with a note of apology saying they needed it for an emergency and leave 2 tickets for a sporting event on the front seat as a thanks. You go to the game, they know your not home, then come back with a truck and empty out your house...
You can never be too careful. In todays economy we`re going to see more and more Bernie Madoff`s.

On the subject of sucker cons: I heard about a guy who was missing a hubcap on his car. Pulled up at a pub and went in. Followed in by someone who said, "I notice you are missing a hubcap - I can get you the exact right one for a very reasonable price." The car owner agreed and the fella went off to get the hubcap. By the time the first drink was finished he was back with the correct hubcap for the car. Money handed over, everyone happy.

You can see where this is going, can't you? When the car owner went outside he looked at his car and discovered that he'd just purchased one of his own remaining hubcaps.

Moral of the story - don't drink and drive!

I always get those emails that my Johnson isn't tall enough!
I once responded in ignorance, a few years ago, that I was a bit scared by the fact they knew the size of my genitals, but that they should've know I was still growing.
ok, I might've been around 11 years old back then.

There is also a scam involving this:
Carjackers have been putting a flyers on the rear window of a vehicle, when the unsuspecting driver starts to back up, they see the flyer and get out to remove it(Leaving their car unlocked and possibly their purse/wallet inside) Then, hop in and jack your car.
I know It's a little off base from the post, but be careful!!

I wouldn't trust anyone on this forum if they were married to my Sister. Just kidding, I don't have a sister. But Seriously Folks......

Thanks For The Warning.

While everyone on here that I've met is a great guy/girl and I'd give half of them the keys to my house and let them take care of my cat, the Forum is wide open to anyone with a Hotmail account, and you don't even need that much to read a profile. My advice would be to display a link to your Myspace or Face book page and only give your Email out to people who you are sure are people.

And remeber, there are neighborhoods that you wouldn't stop in if you came to a Stop sign cause you might get mugged or worse, and some of those houses in that neighborhood have Computers and Internet access. Some of those bad neighborhoods are whole Countries that hate the western world.

BTW, the Email was probably from a Software Company that sells an Anti-Virus program.

yeah i heard about that too.

also there was a group of people that would hang out in mall parking lots then go up to people asking if they would like to sample a perfume. when the people sniffed it, they would pass out momentarily because it contained ether. then the people would rob them.

Scammers will never run out of ideas it seems... As long as there are people to believe they are actually honest people. :D
