Okay I don't know if there is already a thread for this but i was wondering what you guys think: What is the best fender guitar and what is the best non-fender guitar? Also what is your reasoning for your choice.

My favourite Fender guitar:

Jazz Bass. Fast neck, gorgeous styling, huge tonal possibilities, more flexible than a russian gymnast.

Favourite other guitar:

Erm...
Er...
I have to say I adore Warwick Thumbs but it has to be a Rickenbacker 4003 for the sheer looks!

My favorite Fender guitar is probably mine. Its black with 3 green stars up on the top right, and it has a big green star in between the first and second bridges.

And my favorite non-Fender guitar is the Gibson Les Paul.

Favorite Fender guitar: EJ strat.

Favorite non-Fender guitar: Any of the ES-335 designs: Guild Starfire, Epi Sheraton, Gibson ES-335. A very flexible design. Jazz to rock. Classic guitars.

1. Fender Stratocaster - I don't think there's no need for an explanation, hehe.

2. Gibson Super 400 (sharp cutaway) - I've loved that guitar ever since I saw Scotty Moore's being borrowed by Elvis on the 68' Comeback Special. I doubt I'll ever get to have one.

Man, I think I'd give up my first born male child for a Super 400.

This is odd as I'm a Bassist, and though I can hold down the middle I would never call myself a guitar player, but...

Favorite Guitar: Telecaster (I've been in love with the 72' Deluxe RI model lately, but any Tele will do.)

Favorite Non-Fender: Gibson ES-137

(though to be fair, the Strat, and the Esquire both rank higher then my favorite non-Fender guitar. lol)

As far as basses it's pretty simple...

Favorite Bass: Fender Precision (Split or Single Coil, as long as it's passive)

Favorite Non-Fender Bass: Those words don't even make sense to me, its a P bass or nothing.

The Danny Gatton signature Telecaster is the guitar of kings! Probably the best production-line Tele Fender makes, IMO

Best non-Fender guitar? For what use?

I would have to say:
Fender:
-(1)Stevie Ray Vaughan Signature Strat
-(2)American Vintage '52 Tele

Gibson:
-Sg Gt (great guitar (looks damn good:plays good aswell)) (and the 5(7?) classic Humbuckers make it sound like a hotrod!!!)
-ES 335 (just can't picture guitar history without it! and that's an amzing sounding guitar)

Ovation:
Ultra GP (just cause Ginger Elvis plays it !!!!!(Josh Homme))

:D

First Telecaster, Les Paul and the first Stratocaster...everything else would not be here without them.

Favorite Fender is the Stratocaster, because if you leave it for a while and
then pick it up, it feels you're home again.

Other guitar would be the Gibson Les Paul Standard.

Also, Spanish guitars are fun :D
