CAFeathers and others have been talking about the V-Pick.

What model and size do any of you use. i am willing to try em out, but I'll have to order em online, so need some opinions, as i can't go take a test drive with one.

I use a bunch of different sizes depending on my mood.

I would try this: http://www.v-picks.com/FabFour.html

I like the large rounded one ,but I bought an assortment and they all give you a different tone than any other pick I've used. Fuller tone I would say. 8)

I like the Medium Pointed. Prior to V-Picks I was using Dunlop Tortex Sharps. I like the Medium Pointed because it has a pointed tip, yet is about the same size as a regular tip. I don't like the Medium Rounded because it felt like a worn down pick to me, however, it is one of their most popular picks. I tried a Shredder as well, but its a very small pick, and it was a bit too chirpy at times for my playing style. If you are not sure what to get, buy a variety pack, watch the videos on the website on how to pick picks, and you can always contact Vinni, as he has always been very courteous, professional, and polite whenever I contacted him.

If you tell Vinni I sent ya he'll laugh at you.

Seriously, Vinni and his wife Nancy are fantastic people. Give them a call if you have any questions about V-Picks.

I'm gonna say you sent me and see what happens, maybe you'll get a $0.25 commission cheque in the mail!!!

Thanks, if they have a variety pack, I'll go from there. i tend to use different picks for different stuff anyway. Sorta like guitars, like I never use a Jazz3 on my strat, but for metal on my Ibanez I really like it.

Chet!! You are their sample of a custom name etched clear pickguard!!!

On the site Chet linked, click to the clear pickguard page!!!

Hello Twelvebar,

I use the Med-rounded V-pick
Helps out lot with these old hands.
The extra thickness give a good foundation
for gripping which equals less stress on my hand.
I'm glad I have it to use when I have to.

Thanks Chet.

Cheers.

I use both medium and large rounded picks. I'll probably try some others in a little bit though, because I could use some more.

Medium rounded. Took me a while to get used to it but it's my preferred pick now. I need to order some more though as I only bought the one to try out, so it's Big Stubby 3mm in the pockets of all my trousers and the v pick stays at home with the guitar.

Medium Rounded, Large Rounded, and the Freakishly Large Rounded

I'm still working out which I like best. But I still use some Fender Medium and Heavy Picks. I have a Candy dish full of picks next to my gear - I can pick and choose :P

I just ordered two, but didn't like how the round is too rounded, and the sharp is too sharp.

So I emailed him and asked why, with so many shapes and sizes, they don't have a "normal" shaped pick (fender, dunlop, etc). Apparently that's a "hybrid" and a custom order, which they can do, but that's nowhere on the site. Not a great idea to leave that off. I would have ordered that one, and about 6 of my guitar friends were ready to order picks until they noticed that they don't make "normal shaped" picks, but "novelty" picks.

Not impressed with the whole thing so far. We'll see how it works when my too-sharp and too-rounded picks come in. I'm already annoyed with them.

So, Why didn't you ask him to change your order to be regular shaped picks?

I was a little uncertain about the shape too until I used it. Hopefully it will work for you.

I have a whole bunch of v-picks that I switch around. Mid song sometimes, that's an indication of the tonal differences.
I love these picks. 8)
