I use Dunlop Nylon pics mainly. Occasionally I'll play with my fingers. I also composed a song that I use a Stainless Steel Pick (it just does not sound the same without it).

Use what you want and what is the most comfortable at the time.

I use picks too. I'm just to lazy to teach myself to use my fingers. The only song I do with my fingers, is "house of the rising sun ". But that has been a while.
I do envy people who can use their fingers!
so be proud man!

I use Dunlop picks in several thickness for trying out what feels good for me.
For the moment I try out finger picking.

I start with picks and now I go over to fingers.

So check out what feels good for you.

Cheers :D

I use dunlop .88's unless I'm playing fingerstyle tunes. I'm waiting on V-picks to get here so once the blizzard stops I'll head up to the mailbox to see if they're here yet.

I use the Fender Premium (Mediums) for both acoustic and electric. I like to mix it up on the acoustic (depends on what I'm playing) with picks and fingers.

I can't grow my nails properly so can't get any decent sound out of fingerpicking the Tele. Wish I could though...

I've used a lot over the years. I've settled into two that I got back and forth on, depending on my mood...

Either the .88 Dunlop Tortex in Pitch Black (my favorites)...

...or the 1.0 Dunlop Ultex, which has a slightly brighter sound and snappier attack...

I've tried a lot and can't find anything that I like as much as either of these. I tried a few different v-picks - not really a fan. I don't like the different points on them, and their normal "hybrid" pick would be just a clear version of a Dunlop Gel pick to me...

... which I also like. Only the Gel's come in cool clear colors. Also, the v-pick is $4 a piece. Gel's are $4 for a dozen. A lot of people seem to love those v-picks. To me, I paid $16 for two picks and to have them shipped to me. That would have gotten me 48 of the picks I already like and play well with, which would last quite a while :)
