I abandoned my pick a coulpe years ago after copping my Fender GeminiII Classical.

Once i got that finger picking comfie, the pick got in the way...

Bottom line though, Finger playing can allow for some serious flexibilty.

Shredders my Still need those picks for metal leads, But I Suck at Metal Lead, and am More likely to be playin chili peppers than metallica anyway.

Love that new Metallica disk though.

Hell. Like alot of Ya'all've been sayin', Master both!
I'll still pick one up once in a while, but I have a very strict NO PICK rule when it Comes to my Telecaster FMT!!

No Pickgard Means no Picking!

I just read up on them and I'll have to give them a try now.

Just when I thought I found the pick I'll keep for a while (tortex 88's), I have something else to obsess about. Thanks Chet :)

Chet, you should get some kind of commission. Thanks for the heads up on these picks. It's all I use now, when I use a pick.

I'm another who is mostly using these, plus some Fender Heavy and Mediums still. I'll be picking up some V-Picks soon.

I need my pick... strum and play single notes... never broke away from it very much to try a style of playing with just my fingers. Like someone else mentioned... what ever is comfortable.

Definitly Both. Fingers do a better job on some things, like fliud Arppegios, Picks do better in other situations, like Strumming. I've gone through several Pick phases, Jazz Picks, No Picks, Gig Picks, but I keep coming back to Fender Mediums. They're just right for everything from Heavy Picking to Light strumming, and slippery enough to get rid of when you want to use your fingers.

My calusses just don't get very hard. Even when I was doing construction (some time ago) my hammer calusses never even got Dime-Sized. But lotsa folks have pick hard calusses, I envy them a little. So if I wanna play Rude Mood with dampened Strings and heavy attack, I need a pick. Once you get good at it, it's no problem to repositon your pick on the fly.

I have just about every thickness laying on my desk and use whatever one looks good when I want to play.

I will have to say that the Medium Ultra Light with 2 rounded corners turned around backwards is my current favorite.
