No party affiliation and race doesn't matter to me one way or the other, I just hope that he is up to the task. There is a terrible mess that needs to be fixed, and I don't envy him at all.

I really hope for his success.

Who knows..... maybe one day you'll look back and say things weren't so bad with Bush. There's enough blame to share with EVERYONE for the problems we are facing .... maybe even you !!

ps Let's stick with music and keep politics, religion, etc. for some other forum.

Bad timing maybe...but he really did his part to mess things up. It's going to be a while before we are back on our feet, and Bush's 8 years really made sure of that. As time goes on, and people look back on the accomplishments/disasters of previous presidents, Bush will definitely be giving Hoover a run for his money.

Harleyman89, I first of all want to make clear the I am not calling you a "Bush Hater".

Why do the "Bush haters" always blame everything on Bush. You know that Congress has a big investment in the blame as well. Not only that, be we have had a Democratically controlled congress for the last two years. I am not hear to say one party is better than the other. I am just saying that they all are complicit in the debacle that the state of our country is in.

President Obama, I wish you the best of luck. Your job is not going to be easy!

I've tried not to get caught up in the moment with the inauguration. I am glad to see how Obama has been trying to tackle the issues he is facing coming in and has at the least been honest about them (i.e. "it's going to get worse before it gets better")

Your smart for your years. You all can say what you want about Bush but he kept the country safe when terrorists did all they could to harm us. I lost 4 friends on 9/11, all firemen. Lets see what a man with zero experience is going to do with a cabinet thats a throw back to the Clinton era.

...

That last paragraph expresses a key point. I'm no fan of Dubya to say the least, but it was not all his doing nor was it even all done by the current office holders. I won't go back into what Clinton or before him did because they're all only responding to what let's them keep their jobs ... filling the pockets of those with their hands out.

We complain about "welfare" and yet look at all the corporate welfare too. Everyone in this country is also now a "special minority" and they go after laws to benefit just themselves. We've become such a fractured country and no one wants to pull their own weight anymore. At work, you can't say anything to anyone. And I have coworkers making nearly 6 figures who have no shame in applying for social services "because hey, the top executives all get what amounts to welfare too."

I liked what Obama said during his acceptance speech. Let's stop the blame game, let's put aside differences ... let's put the hand out back in the pocket and all start doing instead of asking. If he can accomplish even part of that and start to break the "entitlement mentality" in this country, he will have "moved the mountain" to steal a phrase.

Good God the Clinton years we saw how vulnerable that left us to the crazy's. I guess he did not blow up enough asprin factories or donate enough USS Cole's for target practice. I lost a Friend on there whom I worked with and another colleague who was Navy Reserve Officer at the Pentagon on 9/11 we can not allow ourselfs to be that vulnerable again no matter what it takes.
I wish Obama Luck and hope he does not allow those thing to happen again. I am nervous about the Hilliary appointment he could have done better then that. To many things in Bill's closet and to much money sent his way just make me think she may be an Anchor around the neck.
