Two electrics, and a classical. My favourite would probably be my Yamaha semi-hollow, though it's close.

Here's my collection so far. I might sell my Epiphone due to the fact I already have a Les Paul

This one here (including some projects and "works in progress") makes #20...

Here's a shot of the majority of my collection...

Image

Not included in this shot are the two new Squire Strats, the Kay P-bass I picked up late last summer and two of my acoustics. Of course it's also worth mentioning that there's still room for more...I'm starting to think about picking of a Rick and a Gretch but that probably won't be until later this year sometime. I also have plans to build another Strat as well...I have the body blank glued up in the garage but I want to finish a couple of these other projects first.

As far as my favorite(s)...that would be the '96 MIM Strat in Lake Placid Blue (which now has Duncans and black face cosmetics), the Squire Standard I picked up last summer, the blue Kramer there, my Seagull S-6 acoustic and my Ovation CC-257. That said, most of these instruments have a special place in my heart...the small 3/4 scale classical was my very first guitar, the black Memphis LP copy there was my first "real" electric (I had one piece of crap before it that's long gone), the Harmony acoustic in the back row there was my father-in-laws which was given to my wife and I when he passed, the black "fat" tele in the back row (which you can't really see) is the first guitar that I ever cut myself, etc..

Am I insane? Only my wife knows for sure! LOL!

Enjoy!
Jim

Hope you'll pardon me, as I'm about to get wordy.

I know this'll sound lame but somebody has to say it. How many guitars we've got is secondary to how much we love them and love to play them (and show them off).

Can be pretty humbling, if you let it. Don't. Now matter what you have, there's always going to be some one with more. ('specially if he's a guitar lover who also happens to be a retired banker. BTW, I wanna come over and play. Truely awesome.)

No doubt there are many who've only a single guitar, perhaps his/her first guitar, maybe a Squire Strat, who could all play circles around me. And I think that's awesome.

I've got 6 for myself and 3 I bought my Son. The newest, the 6196, just arrived today and I've yet to play it. (That will change in 2 hours).

Going to list our other stuff, too, and even include a few pics..

---Mine---
07 Gibson Les Paul Studio, upgrd w/TonePros/Kluson vintage lockers
07 Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster
06 Gretsch G6196 Country Club (New, Old Stock, 1/09)
05 Gretsch G6122-1962 Country Classic
02 Rickenbacker 360
98 Taylor 310

Peterson StroboStomp2 Pedal Tuner
Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Octavio/Fuzz
VOX V848 Clyde McCoy Wah
Ibanez TS-808, Keely more/less Mod w/True Bypass
MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay
Booty-Oue Retro-Comp v2.3
DigiTech JamMan Looper Pedal
Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus
Lehle Little Dual Amp Switcher
Little Lehle True Byp Eff Loup Sw Pdl
Whirlwind Selector A/B Box
Many Monsters

08 Fender Pro Jr. (take to work, w/Boss Fender Deluxe Reverb pedal)
08 Fender Blues Jr. NOS
07 Fender Deluxe Reverb (65 VR)

I run the DRRI and Bjr NOS in parallel, or switch between them, through a Lehle Little Dual amp switcher pedal. Pretty cool. I'm confident I could bring down that corner of the house if I wanted.

---Sons---
07 Epiphone G-400, upgrd w/Gib 490R/498Ts, Schaller lockers, RS/CTS/Switchcraft lectrical
07 Gretsch G5120, upgrd w/TV Jones Classics, CTS/Switchcraft lectrical
99 Baby Taylor

Marshall GV-2 Gov nor
DigiTech Grunge Pedal

08 Roland Cube 30X

Regarding a favorite, it depends on which I'm playing. Truely. They're all unique and outstanding in their own right. The Strat is the nicest feeling and playing guitar I've got. Ever played for that matter.

First love has always been Les Pauls. This is a good one. The coolest is the 6122-62. The Ric is superb and capable of doing what the other's can't. Split the pups to different amps. The Green Munster...I'll have to get back with you on that one. Expectations are very high. Spent slightly more on it than any of the others. The Taylors are our only accustics and the 310 is very fine. The Baby is a trip, and pretty impressive for what it is.

Much of the time, I think my Sons mod'd 5120 is the sweetest sounding. Those TV Jones Classics are heavenly. This is my Son's favorite, out of all of the above. Thrills me to death. I play it a lot. I did good. And for $300 (before my upgrades) I'm very impressed with that Epiphone. Even scored a scratch and dent SKB for it for $90.

Know you didn't ask for pics, but most of us love looking at them. Clickable thumbnails.

Since this a Fender forum, and since it's probably true, here's a close up of what I'd choose if I could have only one.

Here's what it looked like before I, (inadvertantly at the time as I'd no idea until someone later pointed it out), made it kind of a tribute to David Gilmours #001.

And what the he11, might as well meet both of us. I'm Dave, and am pleased to meet you all.

Here's the Squier after I got done with it. I changed the nut to a bone one, then installed some Graph-Tech bridge saddles and put on a Fender Waterslide Decal, after which I applied some clearcoat so it wouldn't come off.Image

where do you get those decals?
