i was thinking and i decided to take everyones advice and share some of my lyrics with others and i figured who better than to share them with than the guys on fender (plus i wont be seein my friends for a while  )
i literally just wrote these to day and its not finished but i like it and i want to know what you think so tell me... and dont hold back

i dont want to be with you anymore
yet you keep on showing up at my door
why are you so persistent
these days you dont make much sense.
you cant ever seem to tell me the truth
you hide yourself better than the darkside
of the moon

why cant you just see
i want you to leave me be
wipe that tear from your cheek
you will find somebody
but that somebody aint me...

On again and off again too
you make me not wanna be with you
but i dont wanna be the reason that your hurt
lean on my shoulder cry on my shirt
but i cant stand this anymore
so unlock the shackles lett'em fall to the floor

why cant you just see
i want you to leave me be
wipe that tear from your cheek
you will find somebody
but that somebody aint me...

Wow, the lyrics are solid. The raw nature of the subject matter really got to me - the frankness of the opening line, in particular, as well as the repeating theme of "you will find somebody/but that somebody aint me...".

What I really like about the song is that while it's definitely heard through the voice of the narrator, it focuses more on person about whom the narrator is singing. It's more about taking a stand against a hurtful person instead of complaining about one's lot in life (into which songs of this matter can easily degenerate). Well done!

Have you penned a melody for the song? I'm curious as to what kind of tune you envision it to be. If you ever get a rough recording down, please post a link to this thread as I'd like to hear it.

Thanks for sharing Pgkinder91.

PG! Great lyrics! You can feel the emotion in them. Very cool. I love the last line of the chorus too! Good job!

Hi, Pgkinder91. As far as recording goes, you've got access to a computer, so all you need is a mic. If you're running a Mac, just boot up Garageband and go from there. If you're running a PC and need recording software, check out Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/). It's free, easy to use, and reliable.

Feel free to email me off-forum if you have any questions.

Am I the only one who's thinking - ouch!

Most of us have probably been on the receiving end of those kind of sentiments at some point in our lives.

Very eloquent - painfully so!

"Please release me, let me go
For I don't love you anymore..." - who said that?

Nice work, Pgkinder91. Be sure to show us the finished track when you've got it down, will ya?

Cheers - C
