I downloaded the beta yesterday, and I have to say, so far I'm impressed, It is a bit buggy, but that's what beta software is all about right?

So as the thread title says, is anybody here trying it out?

I'll let everyone else work out the bugs first before I try it. I just moved from Windows 98 last year...lol.

Windows 98  thats way back when. Now I guess they are tired of pushing Window Vista on people. Kind of reminds you of the Windows Millenium flop swoosh. Me I am still loving Windows Xp Pro I was not happy with the service pack III update though because they included a one of the security updates that caused all kinds of issues with others software that use outlook as part of there program use and the work around was horrible. I do have Vista on one machine and XP Pro on the others and its still the best.

I have been too busy lately but I'd like to. As a Microsoft MVP I've had access to it for a while but just haven't had the time to play.

So when does Windows Mojave come out?

Just kidding, I know Mojave was as fake as the one dude's Amish looking beard in the commercials...

Nope. I bought a computer in 2007 with Windows Vista. I kept it two days before returning it. I bought a Mac last year loaded with OS X Leopard, and I haven't looked back.

Before getting the beta I was running Vista Business, and I sure am hoping that Vista users will be elegible for a knoked down price for an upgrade to Windows 7 when it's released, because Vista isn't that great. I don't think people should have to pay for a fixed version of the OS that Microsoft didn't get right the first time around (in fact, it should, theoretcally be free for Vista users, but when is that giong to happen?).

Even Microsoft knows it,...for what other reason would they be releasing Windows 7 only 2 years after the release of Vista if Vista was actually good? Microsoft even advertises features in Windows 7 like compatibility with all XP software (which Vista doesn't have), etc.

We're still using XP at work (I have only Macs at home) and our IT dept's decision is that we're never moving to Vista. We have a site license that will allow us to continue installing XP until (I think) some time late this year. Meanwhile, they plan to assign several people to evaluate 7.

They concluded that there were far too many issues with Vista and that going that way would likely overload our 2 person PC support team. We have roughly 95 PCs in our Burbank office and probably another 25 between our other offices and our NYC office is the only other one with a tech.

Now if they can do something with Outlook  According to our techs, roughly 70% of all their trouble tickets are to do with Outlook crashing, freezing, appearing to lose mail, etc.

...I actually tried windows 7's email client yesterday, and it doesn't seem that bad. It even sets itself up for you. It's quite handy.

The people I worked for the last 10 years and some family still do have over 10,000 Pc's on the main campus for a staff of over 6,000 the General Service IT staff and the idividual Dept. IT people said from the start that they would not bring Vista on site or any external sites. Everything is XP Pro not counting all the Macs

I bought a laptop in may with vista installed and have experienced no problems with it. My pc that came with xp home has been beset by problems from day one though.
