Post subject: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Speaker Crackling

hey, is there anyone else whos experienced speaker crackling in their Hot Rod Deluxe? i just got mine in the mail and i plugged in, turned the clean volume to three and hit a chord and it just started screaming at me. can anyone tell me how to fix this? thanks

did you try different cables from your guitar to amp to make sure thats not the problem? i had a cable go bad once and it made crackling sounds when i tried to play with it

Sometimes it could be because either your amp, or the guitar is too loud. I may be wrong, but I've seen it happen before that you can mess up the sound-system in your guitar. I'd try to look it up, or look for farther information here and stick with not playing it until your positive that yes, that is suppost to make that sound, or you have fixed your problem.

First check your cables, set the volume till there is no crackling. Be aware of how far away you are, can't be up too close. If all that doesn't work, find a Fender Repair Center and have them look it over.

I purchased a used HRDlx about a year ago that did the same exact thing after a few weeks. I tried new preamp tubes which I thought would take care of the issue but didn't make any difference. Turned out to be a bad power amp tube which I was able to determine was bad by lightly tapping on the power tubes with a chop stick. Replaced both power amp tubes and couldn't be happier. Hope this helps.
