i don't get why, in my opinion the best guitarist in the world today
john frusciante, doesn't have a signature strat
everyone knows he uses a strat as his primary guitar
after his work with the chilies i think he definitely deserves his own signature
guitar

It wouldn't be different from an ordinary 62' reissue strat

I don't know if John is one of them, but I bet there are artists who turn down offers for signature models...

I think this is because john isn't famous for his guitar, he doesn't have an extraordinary instrument or something...

I also just think the whole signature product thing has gotten out of hand anyways...It seems like these days just because someone is a good or decent player, many suddenly asks why don't they get a signature model? I have said it many times, some signature models are based on the players ability, but many, if not most, of the signature models that come out these days I feel are based more on marketing than ability. A signature model for whoever can sell and move units off the shelves...

Besides, as I mentioned before, I don't know if John is one of them, but since he seems to be a bit reclusive at times, I wouldn't be surprised if he and other artists have been approached for a signature model, and they just refused to do it...

I don't know about calling john the best guitarist in the world, but he definitely is talented.

as others have said, most of the signature guitars are given to artists who are well known to kids, not ones that are good at their instrument. Not to mention a lot of signature guitars are squiers, so that they'll appeal to the kids who are just starting to play guitar.

by the time you've developed enough of a taste for a guitarist that's good at their instrument, you've probably realized that you want YOUR sound, not a sound or look someone else has.
