I have people telling me all the time my Strat sucks. At the same time, I have made equally as many people quite jealous of it. High gain, low gain, clean, driven, sounds beautiful, wouldn't trade it in on anything. :)

People are always tellin' me to play another brand of guitar because Fender sucks... I just tell them "Well... I've played others. (Gibsons, Schecters, Ibanez) and Fender is my favorite no matter what.. Doesnt mean that all others suck... Its all in personal preference to me. Anyone else have this problem?

I don't know why people continue to disagree on that! It's totally up to each one's taste and the sound that they want!
and Fender is definitely one of the most legendary guitar brands!

Here's a few things to remember when dealing with mentally disturbed musicians:
--It's all a matter of personal taste.

--It doesn't matter what brand it is if you cannot play decently.

--Most people who criticize your gear or tone oftentimes are the ones who need to re-read the previous statement.

You guys must not keep good company--everybody I know is very complimentary to each other's axes.

I believe the Broadcaster was the first solid body in mass production, but I'm pretty sure ol' Les Paul was experimenting with solid body guitars for years before.

I don't know--maybe some one else knows.
I have an Iceman-most of which are non-vibrato--including mine.
Then there's the AF95--an archtop with a trapeze tailpiece.

If Brand A is crap, it doesn't automatically make Brand B better. Brand B could be bigger crap.

SO if you're going to discuss which brand is better, then discuss why your brand is best--without putting down the others.

Me?

I have Fender, Gibson, Ibanez, Simon & Patrick, and a couple of student brands in my guitars.
And I have Fender, Roland, Traynor & Garnet for amps.

I feel no need to trash brands I don't have to make my brands better.

But I will tell you why I like Fender, Gibson, Ibanez, Simon & Patrick, Roland, Traynor & Garnet.

+10 on that one.

I have an ibanez I love, well except I have grown to hate the Floyd Rose. but that's just cus it seems such a hassle, compared to all my other guitars.

Yep the floyds are still a game to re-string with clamps at both ends. Thats one of the reasons i like kahlers so much. Along with their individual string height adjustments and cam system they make for a better playing experience especialy when you do the chugga chugga muted stuff.

I've owned Gibson's, Jackson's, Squire's, Charvel's, Mako's, BC Rich's, ESP's, and Fender's. I have played on Ibanez, Schecter, and Lace guitars.

My first guitar I played on was a Fender Stratocaster. My main guitar I play on now is a Fender Stratocaster. It took me a ling time to come back home to Fender, but I'm back and here to stay.

I play Metal, Blues, Rock, Punk, and Alternative. I have no issues playing any of this stuff with my Fender. That is why I love Fender so much, V.E.R.S.I.T.I.L.E is the word.

Any idea how hard they are to switch, , if they can pretty much fit in the same rout, i am planning on restoring that guitar over whats left of the winter, as stated on a couple other posts, it has seen a bit of abuse.
but i am tired of it sleeping at the shelter, and want to fix it up.By that I mean, I am stripping it right to the wood, and refinishing it.so if I could make it less $@!&#* to setup and easier to play, I am all for it. I'm not afraid to do a bit of wood worki to do it either.
it will never again be my main guitar, but i have a soft spot for it, I learned how to play on it.
