Who else thinks that Fender makes it really difficult to find exactly how and where to sign up, enter, participate, etc. in their contests?

When I get an email from Fender and they are promoting a contest or giveaway, I would like to have a link that goes straight to that contest. It seems I always have to go through several pages that have nothing to do with the give away and read almost everything on every page to find my way to the actual contest page. I think it should be easy... Contest? have the email link go to the right page, log in and fill out any necessary information, CLICK, DONE.

I had no problem FINDING the contest at all. The instructions were clear in the email. The only problem *I* had was when I first signed up SO LONG AGO, I messed up my spelling of my tag. I keep having to get it sent to me... or show up and post more often..hehehe... Besides, man...the contest is worth whatever you have to do to get here and enter!!!!

Fair weather Forumites please take note:
"It’s very important to note that submitting a whole bunch of posts does NOT increase your odds … so please do NOT barrage our online community with a flurry of junk posting activity. Doing so will forfeit your eligibility to win and this is entirely at our forum administrator’s discretion to determine whether a violation has occurred. One post per day is sufficient to qualify you for entry."

I mean seriously, how many different Contest or 2009 Kickoff titled or related threads are there right now in the last 2 (possibly 3) pages?

I've got nearly 10,000 paid professional gigs under my belt in the last 45 years. I've updated my profile several times. I wonder why it still says hobbyist under my name. I'm pretty sure 10,000 paid gigs doesn't count as a hobby!!

Fendere guitars are the best ever, although Danelectro did come close a few times.

Thanks for your feedback. The whole point of this particular giveaway is to get some attention on our event coverage, have folks surf the site a bit, *and* promote our community at the same time. i.e., it's intentionally not being done as a 'click this button and win' thing.

Just so you know, the "Hobbyist" is determined by the amount of posts to these forums. You have less that 100 posts, therefore you are considered a "hobbyist". It has nothing to do with your experience level in the real world.

I understand the concept. I am not suggesting you change your business and promotional practices, I'm just reporting on my habits, likes, and dislikes.

I went in the military to help protect this country as a young man, and one of the many things that experience instilled in me was practical and efficent use of your time. When I want to look at new gear available, that's what I do [and I do make use of your site for those purposes]. When I want to enter a contest, I would much prefer to do exactly that, rather than play hide and seek.

It is nice that you have this avenue available for feedback, and I do appreciate the direct response from a representative from the company. It lets me, and should let others, know that you are listening.

Thanks for the heads up. I am obviously new to this, and for that matter, any other forum. It seems to me that your name, having 600 some posts, should say aspiring poster, not aspiring musician. Posting on a forum has little or nothing to do with music as a hobby, aspiration, or profession.

By the way, that seems like a lot of posts to me. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowlege and opinions.

I was going to post a photo of my old Fender Jazz bass but I don't know how. Maybe someone with more posting experience could let me know how. I don't know what BBCode is either, only that you have an option to disable it when you post.
