Learn with what you have, as long as it's playable and in good shape, and you enjoy playing it.
Then look for something else later on if you want to branch out to other types of guitars.

I'll take everyone's advice and if I want to play acoustic, I'll just clean the sound on my Strat and amp. Sound is clear enough that I won't be able to pick up bad habits.

BTW, I'm digging the forums. Alot of helpful advice and no jerks so far. Thanks much,
-Rob

Spend time practicing without plugging in. That will reveal errors and flaws more than playing plugged in. It will help you work on the part of tone that comes from your fingers. That's the most important part of tone.

I actually spend more of the time I play unplugged than playing though an amp.

Another option if you like acoustic is the VG strat. I thought, "whatever", until I played one and bought it. Cures your strat, tele, humbucker and acoustic jones in one guitar and played clean, I think the acoustic setting sounds darn good.

Another bonus is the 12 string tuning which I first thought a little chorus-y but now I really dig that with the strat, tele & acoustic settings.

YMMV, but I really like the guitar a LOT.
