Just curious about the playing habits of our members. What do you do?

I do all, but an currently bandless.
Just played a jam last weekend to benefit a sick friend's dad.
I seem to pick up more jazz gigs now. I'm in a jazz trio that plays in the summer.
Would love to join an original rock band, but no offers and I'm getting up there in age. No big.
I refuse to play covers in bar bands anymore. Just not interesting.

So now appearing in my practice room daily!!

I've played in a lot of different full time bands, have filled in for people in temp situations, recorded on other CD, wrote with others for music/tv/film, taught guitar and bass, organized music festivals - all that fun stuff.

Currently, I'm in three music groups, with a few side projects going on.

Yes, just private in my room so far, I wouldn't want to subject anyone else to my beginner stylings, but I dream of playing in a band one day. Wonder how you find other players who are interested in the same style? I will learn all about that soon enough...

Okay... the "win a new Fender" got to me. <grin> So I'm new on the forums.

At my current point in life I'm solo, gig or just doing my own thing. I've played in bands ranging from 3-6 piece combos for rock/blues, jazz, country or grass but... the work schedule kinda damages that so stylistically I'm playing what brings pretty much a solo act.

In fact, I kinda tease that I'm really playing piano, just on a guitar.

I play mostly by myself (I call it practice). I'll play with others at jams or open mic gigs if I can. I'll play solo acoustic for anyone who'll listen, but it's more fun when there's other jammers involved.

Weekly bass at Mass in church contemporary ensemble.

Almost daily sofa-player.

Great feedback so far!

I have played in several bands and was involved in some public and private jams. I'm currently working my way back into playing shape and would love to get started with something again.

I do everything on that list, but currently I'm making a demo so my brother can learn the songs. Then, hopefully it's going to be a CD.

My focus is jazz and I play in a regular 2 x month jam session. I also play in a few groups including a Gypsy jazz quartet (Minor Swing) and in a straight ahead jazz sextet w/guitar, trombone, sax, piano, bass and drums. Opportunities to play at church come up from time to time. I hate to say no to playing opportunities.

Solo artist now. Performed in several bands over the years... but they dis-banded (no pun intended). Got tired of lugging my equipment around for little cash. Decided to start composing original works in 95... still doing that today.

Hey feel free to visit my myspace page for a listen.
