on my acoustic guitar my strings are getting to the point where they need to be changed theyre starting to corrode a little and all that happens when they start to go bad. but for some reason they sound better this way i dont know if i just like the sound or if its something about how theyre corroding or something. and this happens every time they get to this point. just wanted to know if anybody else has had this happen.

NO, not to me. When mine start getting that way it's time to change them for me. I just love the nice sustained ringing sound of new strings on my acoustic! I guess it's what ever sound you like so enjoy my friend!!
PS- I'd be glad to send you my corroded Gibson Masterbuilt strings if you want them! :)

You're talking about how it's less ringy and more mellow. When it begins to corrode the sound becomes less brighter. Some people like that, others may not.

I've had some on my acoustic so long that when I finally did change them, I could snap them in two. Like a rusty old twig... :|

I don't do that anymore, though...

I like mine with the edge slightly off, it loses some of the squeeks and un-wanted noises but not too old I don't like them dull.
