How cool is this. Good luck everyone! I could use a Fender Strat to go with my Twin Reverb.

I love contests and am also a big fan of Fender products - beautiful instruments, well crafted and they have brought uncountable hours of pleasure and untold amounts of increased self esteem to my younger son!

Ah, to own a Strat.

Post, the first.

It's been a while since I've posted here. I think my last post was about Turkey (the country, not the poor defenseless bird we eat with such gusto once a year!)

Anyway, my son has been here in Florida on his winter break from UMass, and he has enjoyed great weather. He's been busy getting ready for a Battle of the Bands this Sunday 1/18 at Churchill's Pub in Miami...all you South Floridians...go cheer him and his band Radio Wayside on.
However, he decided to put his 57 Vintage Hot Rod Strat up for sale...he wasn't happy with the feel and playability, so he got himself a vintage sunburst Gibson CS-336.
As for me, I also got a CS-336, but haven't played it yet...been too busy with my 106 wild, crazy and snotty kids....finished report card grades today...lots of "F"s in World History...they are so lazy!
Hopefully soon, I'll get to the 336.
On another school note, I was picked as one of 2 teachers from my school to go the the US Holocaust Museum in April for their annual Educator Study trip...I am psyched!
On that note, another photo for your New Year enjoyment..

From left to right:
my new 2008 Gibson CS-336F in Transparent Green, my old 1996 Epiphone Les Paul with Gibson zebra 57 Classic/Classic Plus pickups which I now need to get rid of,
my son's 2007 Fender Vintage Hot Rod Stratocaster in 2-tone sunburst , and my 2006 Fender 60th Anniversary Stratocaster in Charcoal Frost Metallic.
Not in the photo are his sunburst 336, and his amber HSS Highway 1.

I've got a Squire M-80 and a Frontman 25R. With the economy the way it is I have no hope of buying a new axe. My only chance is to win one.
